SHOCK HORROR)
How much do you drink a week? Are you legally drinking? What
can happen if you drink too much? Did you know that in 2011, there were 167,764 prescription items for drugs
for the treatment of alcohol dependency prescribed in primary care settings or
NHS hospitals and dispensed in the community. This is an increase of 4.7 per
cent on the 2010 figure. This could be you, or your kids in the future, but
what can you do to stop yourself from becoming alcohol dependant. If you keep
drinking weekly then what will come next , liver failure , liver cancer it will
always result in death if you don’t stop alcohol abuse now!
(1st person)
I recently realised that the issue of alcohol has definitely
gotten out of hand. I was walking down the street when i was approached by a
young girl around 13-14 with a group of older boys who already to me seemed
under the influence of alcohol. She asked me to go into the shop and get her a
2l bottle of white star. I was shocked at the fact that this young girl who
should be playing with her friends was out with these older teenage boys
drinking at that age. I mean who is to blame for this society or peoples
morality?

This article will look at the dangers of abusing alcohol and
what can happen in the long term if the abuse continues. It will contain
shocking statistics which you would never have realised before, opening your
eyes to the unknown shock that alcohol can have on your body and your mind. One
will convey in this article the stories which will pull at the heart strings
and hopefully make you be more aware of the even more recent alcohol issues.
Also there will be numerous amounts of hotlines and help services that can help
anyone out there that feels like they are alone or are unsure if someone they
know or themselves have an issue with alcohol and what help is available to
help with this rising issue of alcohol abuse.
One example of an introduction I found in the magazine JUKE ,
the introduction was half summary and half description. “the smoked–out Yoga
enthusiast’s latest album mu.zz.le , makes for a slightly heeb-inducing
gonjasufi experience” this gives an overview of why the article is about this Gonjasufi and who he is
and what he had recently been doing. “We got proof in the form of his
awe-inspiring images and impressions for the day trip” this gives the reader
the background information to what they did while they were getting the
interview. Giving the reader the idea that the whole article will be about what
this man does to get his inspiration for his albums and what he is when he is
casual. This makes the reader feel that they are getting an insight to what the
man is really like in his spare time.
When
writing my magazine article I personally wouldn’t choose to use the 3rd
person narrative for my introduction because i believe it wouldn’t be suitable
for my 16-21 year old audience because it is very formal and lack excitement
and a lively feel which would be mostly relatable for my audience. It seems to
factual and generalised and conveys a boring , mature attitude which may make
the audience feel like they are being lectured and they may not want to
continue reading the following article.
